At KC Kennels our top priority is breeding genetically clean dogs. We will not breed any dog without it having been screened for hip dysplasia, approved and certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), screened for retinal dysplasia, approved and certified by the Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF). No matter what precautions are taken a very small percentage of dogs will still develop genetic defects in the areas we test and hope to be clear of. In the event that happens, we will promptly refund your purchase price or, if you prefer, replace your puppy with one of comparable value.
We are also screening all of our dogs for Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) and Centronuclear Myopathy(CNM). These are newer tests, so some of the stud dogs we look at may not have had both tests done yet.It is our goal to provide puppies clear of these, but it is possible to still have a puppy that is a carrier (displays no symtoms but could pass on the gene or create an affected puppy if bred to another carrier). It is important if you are planning on breeding to have all genetic testing done so you can make imformed decisions.
